Romeo Rebuffed

So, the challenge this week from Big Tent Poetry was to write a poem incorporating the 12 words in the Wordle above.  You also had to include one of 3 phrases: “Say more,” “There is also the matter of ____” and “He started by _____.”   Well, I got ’em all, but at quite a price  in style…yikes!

He started by placing his hand on her thigh

The question was if she’d accept or defy

So, he flashed her his typical, boyish smile

In hopes he could wake a sweet flame with his guile

She let slip a gasp at his brutish advance

Then served up a kick to the seat of his pants

He went down in a tangle of legs, feet and arms

Amazed she rebuffed the parade of his charms

Wow! And in only two stanzas. I love the humor; find it very difficult to write.
